Industry’s Best Pneumatic Framing Nailers by Mallory Kramer

For many craftsmen, a pneumatic framing nailer is one of the greatest tools in the world. Making quick work of jobs that can take what feels like forever, and doing it with professional strength and precision, these nailers are an irreplaceable asset. If you’re in the market for one of the best framing nailers in the pneumatic world, well, you’re in luck. The following is a compiled, compacted set of reviews of the best framing nailers, and their prices, on the market today.

Hitachi’s NR83A2 framing nailer is one of the most high-quality, high-performance pneumatic framers on the market today. Weighing only 7.9 lbs the tool is clearly lightweight and the tool is extremely well balanced for the most comfortable operation and maneuverability. The framer has a tool-less depth adjustment allowing craftsmen to choose their depth of drive, and with an open nose design, extracting a jammed nail is hardly a hassle. The framer also features selective actuation, a favorite feature of most users, which allow craftsmen to simply transition from single actuation to contact actuation for the greatest versatility through a variety of applications. The tool is strong, fast, and versatile, and because it’s also so lightweight and well-balanced, continuous work and awkward applications are far less strenuous. Ultimately, the NR83A2 is a seriously tough framer built for durability on the jobsite and for reliability through the most heavy-duty applications. Lastly, pricing from about 0 – 0, Hitachi’s framer is a bit spendy, but is worth every penny. (Note: This tool is also available as a sequential trigger gun (NR83A2S) for just about 0.)

On another hand, Porter-Cable’s FR350A 3-1/2″ roundhead framing nailer is one of the more heavy-duty pneumatic framing tools on the market today. With the power to drive nails up to 3-1/2″ x 131″ into engineered lumber, the tool has intense power. The framer’s compact body design contributes to its well-balance and overall smooth style while an internal piston catch mechanism ensures each shot is consistently powerful. A selectable trigger transitions modes between restrictive or contact actuation mode, and with a tool-free adjustable depth-of-drive, craftsmen have complete control over the tool’s performance. The tool is simple to reload, and a nail lockout mechanism alerts you when its time to reload your tool. Keeping your materials protected during work, the framer also has a (tool-free, adjustable) exhaust and a (removable) non-marring nose tip, and also having on-tool storage, the FR350AR is endlessly convenient. Ranging in price from about 0 – 0, the framer is abrilliant tool at a certainly reasonable price.

The FR350A is also available reconditioned (FR350AR) for just about 0. As a reconditioned tool, this nailer presents a truly superior value to craftsmen and builders. For those unfamiliar with recons, they are an extremely great value that bring craftsmen the highest-performance tools at a tiny fraction of regular cost. Reconditioned tools, for some minor cosmetic or technical defect, have been returned to the manufacturer. There, they undergo a series of stringent tests and retests and restoration processes before being re-released with an “R” trailing the model number. This little “R” (and potentially hundreds of dollars) is truly the only difference between a brand new tool and a recon. The value with reconditioned tools is a no-brainer; when they are available, buy them.

Like Hitachi and Porter-Cable, Senco is known for building some of the best pneumatic tools and nailers in the industry. With well-seasoned experience and superior craftsmanship, Senco is an steadfast contender in the world of pneumatics. Pricing from about 0 – 0, their SN902XP framing nailer is a brilliant and saucy little tool with 904 in/lbs of power in a compact, 7.3 lb package. This round head framer is also built with a innovated design that requires up to fifteen-percent less air than other comparable models, and still having the power to drive 2 – 3-1/4″ (round head plastic collated) framing nails with fast efficiency, the nailer perfectly unites precision power and lightweight convenience. The nailer also drives 2″-3-1/2″ smooth shank nails and 2″-3″ ring shank nails. The tool’s compact design also contributes to its ability to work in tight spaces in between studs and joists, and its overall balance and ease of operation. Additionally, the gun is easy to transition from rapid fire to sequential fire and is simple to load and unload for optimal convenience on the job. The SN902XP is ideal for a huge number of applications from framing, fencing and subfloors, to trusses and decking. It additionally has a patented TrueDrive magazine to prevent jamming and an adjustable depth of drive for unfailing precision with every shot. Like the above Porter-Cable nailer, Senco’s SN902XP is also available reconditioned (if you can find it) for about 0.

In the end and whatever your needs may be, one of these nailers is certain to be an ideal framer. With big power, acute precision, and the accountability of a time-honored manufacturer, these pneumatic framing nailers are the best of the best.

Nailing Or Screwing Drywall

Nails as opposed to screws who will become the winner. While drywall very first arrived out the installers utilized everything from normal metal coil nails to galvanized roofing nails. After a brief amount of your time they began to develop main difficulties from nails coming out from the finished drywall.

Nail popping results when the nail is driven into moist lumber and since the lumber shrinks the house settles and nail can actually come out to the walls. How much the nail might actually pop out was determined by way of how much it used to be driven in to the framing studs or ceiling joists. This labored excellent but those nails were hard to generate in and may often break.

Those new nails worked excellent and experienced good holding energy and eliminated a whole lot of nail popping.

Using coil nails means driving them in with a hammer. If you omit the nail you damage the drywall. This appeared to be a large issue and was practically eliminated with the screws.

Nicely fairly quickly people began utilizing screws which experienced greater retaining energy and pretty a lot nail popping. This means much less exertions setting up and ending the drywall.

There’s one issue using the screws and that is they need to be arranged perfectly. They can no longer holiday the paper surface area on the drywall but have to be set enough into the drywall to ensure that it can be finished properly. Such a lot screw weapons have an adjustable setting used to obtain just the correct depth for the screws set up within the drywall. That doesn’t imply the coil nails just obtained screwed or even the screws simply got nailed.

Nail Gun As A Weapon?

A “200 subscribers” special video. We've seen it in the movies, the good guy grabs a nail gun, shoots the bad guys with it, and down they go. But is this act…

L3SLii3 asked whats the difference between the ear piercing and body piercing gun?

or is there really no difference?

And got the following answer:

There was a body piercing gun invented a few years back, thankfully it never made it to usage. Even if it had, any respectable piercer would have guffhawed in its presence and sent the salesman for it out the door with a swift kick to the rear for insulting our art.

Here is a write up on it (copied and pasted)
“The interesting thing about the System 75™ though, and the real reason I’m reviewing it, is that it’s designed to bridge gun technology into much more than just ear or nose piercing — it’s designed to be able to pierce nipples, navels, eyebrows, and more. When I talked to Studex, this was not yet approved in the US or in most of Canada, but Ken told me that in Quebec, parts of Europe, and most of all Japan, the gun was being used for full-on body piercing. Even the US-distributed catalog, which is primarily ear oriented, shows jewelry that while labeled as being for “ear piercing” appears to be more appropriate for body piercing due to its length and gauge (although some of it is tagged as being “Europe only”).

Ken was able to provide us with a number of the Japanese developed body piercing cartridges. They appeared to be 14 gauge, and came as both straight and curved barbells. The basic idea was the same as the ear piercing studs, although much more physical contact was needed to use them. The cartridge sits on its side in the packaging, requiring one to take it out by hand, rather than handling it exclusively with the pusher. In addition, after forcing the stud through the tissue being pierced, the bead has to be screwed on. Many of the benefits of the System 75™ were lost.

This is one of the body piercing gun barbells.
As you can see, it is not very sharp, and contains a very steep bevel, making piercing both painful and difficult. This is additionally complicated by external threading which tears up the piercing as it passes through the freshly made hole.

Still, we attempted several piercings using this system. The first and somewhat bizarre problem we discovered, on our navel piercing attempt, was that the curved barbell was facing out in a concave fashion. This meant that it was being held in the exact opposite way required to do this or any other piercing, and was extremely difficult to coordinate — but BME photographer and guinea pig Phil Barbosa bravely allowed us to attempt it anyway. Using all of her strength, Rachel forced the stud into his belly as he grimaced in pain. The dull point managed to penetrate the first layer of skin, and then eventually ground to a halt as the external threading tore up Phil’s navel and wouldn’t allow us to get it all the way through no matter how hard any of us squeezed the unit’s handle, which eventually fell apart in protest. Extracting the stud wasn’t very fun either, as we had to pull the threading back through the fresh injury.

Every cartridge we used for body piercing disintegrated during use, and while the rate of failure was much lower when we used the smaller gauge ear studs, it was still unacceptably high. Also in this photo are one of the standard ear piercing studs with a butterfly backing, as well as a barbell bead, and a nostril piercing stud (about 14ga, but flaring out to 12ga to hold it in place).

We did a second test piercing on Badur through his hand web. It took an incredible amount of force to drive the stud through — probably about the same as it would take to drive a nail into soft wood using only your hand, was excessively painful, and the unit failed to release the stud, causing it to be partially pulled back into the wound and forcing us to dismantle the unit by hand to abort the piercing. People stopped volunteering so we tried piercing pieces of cloth, which also broke the cartridges. Finally we tried simply piercing the air, and continued to have the same failures. While it might be possible to modify it, I do not believe that this element of the System 75™ is a mature product yet, and I am somewhat disturbed that there are people using it on unsuspecting clients.”

There is more to this article in regards to the Studex 75 that includes how it works as an ear piercing gun as well. Here is a link to the complete article…

Piercing guns are evil, regardless as to what part of the body they are used on, and the people using them are like satan’s little helpers spreading disease, ruining people’s bodies (sometimes permanently disfiguring them), and giving horrible aftercare. After all, what do you expect from a 17 year old who was shown an instruction pamplet, allowed to test it out for 20 or 30 minutes, then turned loose on poorly misinformed clients in a mall kiosk or store.

Frank Garrett asked Is this decent enough power for hunting foxes, raccoons, etc….?

Pellet gun: Hammerli RWS 850, it’s listed as 754 fps, but in the reviews I’ve seen most said that with any sort of non-superlight pellet it was just under 700 fps. It’s in .177 cal. The main reason I want it is because it’s a repeater/co2. No breaking the barrel. It’s been years since I owned a pellet gun, and I never tried hunting anything larger than squirrels.
I used to have the crosman automatic air rifle, which was listed at 590-625 fps and I loved it.

And got the following answer:

Foxes no. There was a fox walking around my ducks the or night just as it was getting dark. I nailed that sucker right between his eyes from about 20 yards out of a window. How to break out the 10/22 to finish him off.

Dark Betty asked What does it means being shot twice in the dream?

I remembered being on the bus, going to this usual school *Going to BOCES*, and the next thing I knew, I was playing to be a hero. It was kind like being spider-man. But, no mask or special costume.

I jumped from motorcycle into batmolie car where a strange crazy villain with the gun in his hand. He was threaten me to kill me, but I didn’t believe him. I was trying to punch him, but he grabbed my arms and shot me where the elbow. I moved away, but no major bleeding or anything as if I was a robot.

Then, I knew I had to stop this crazy villain with this gun and he shot me again below my wrist. I couldn’t take it anymore, seeing how I was bleeding, but it wasn’t much.

I jumped from and went onto my motorcycle to escape. My mind was reviewing the CPR and AID lessons, was to tighten up the wounds. So, I used my yellow shirt to cover up the bullet holes in my arm *this was my right arm*.

Then, when I got that done, I picked up the time warner cable remote and lifted it up in the air. It was like seeing electronic in the sky, I was trying to spell the word out, “HOSPITAL”, but, once I got to the letter “S”, it got messed up because my nails were so long. I had to start all over again, but the dream ended from there.

This dream freaked me out this morning and I don’t know what it could means. I never had such bizarre dream like this one. Usually weird, but never like this one before.

What is my dream telling me?

And got the following answer:

probally something to do with your wrist and elbow im not an expert with any of this lol but im just takeing a wild gess anyway do you have tatoos on your arms or somethng lol or it could mean like you might be a hero some day but idk maby go 2 a phycic lol best wishes
