Ventura County Reporter – Picks of the Week – Happenings

It can be tough to land a hit on a moving target with Hanks Orbital Strike, but once Abe tosses out a Stasis Grenade or two to lock the monster down, you can nail it with no problem. This leads to some rich decision-making at the character select screen, where team composition becomes incredibly important. Evolve is full of tactical possibility, and fortunately, the AI-controlled bots are good enough to test a lot of this stuff out when playing single-player. Annoyingly, some of that possibility sits locked behind a progression system that, while not unreasonable, feels unnecessary. With all 12 hunters, three monsters, and all their perks unlocked, Evolve feels complete and fully fleshed out, but getting there can take anywhere from a few hours to a couple of weeks depending on how good you are and how frequently you play. This makes Evolve seem more limited than it actually is at first, which is a shame because once its all opened up, its anything but. 00:48 IGN NEWS With the default Hunt mode being so central to Evolves identity, itd be easy to forget about the Nest, Rescue, and Defend match types, but Im glad I didnt.

SC State Board of Trustees calls emergency meeting Thursday – wistv.com – Columbia, South Carolina

More >> A proposed Walmart Neighborhood Market in Cayce could mean major improvements to an intersection that has sorely needed an upgrade for years. More >> COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – It all began with a prayer Thursday morning as a packed room gathered for an emergency meeting called by South Carolina State University’s Board of Trustees as a battle over shutting down operations for a fiscal year at the school brews in Columbia. The prayer ended and trustees immediately went into executive session for what the meeting agenda called “legal advice.” Trustees likely need that advice as a proviso making its way through the State House could shutter the school until 2017 to help rein in the school’s finances. Some say the plan that cleared its second hurdle Wednesday could be the nail in the coffin for SC State.

WTVC NewsChannel 9 :: News – Top Stories – Man Charged with Pulling Gun on Deputies in Crowded Walmart

Price kept an eye on Womace until until Deputies Paul Redrup and Dylan Presswood arrived. ‘At that point, Mr Womac was at a cash register,’ said Sheriff Guy. ‘Deputy Redrup approached him from behind and told him he was under arrest. Womac pretended to place some money in his left coat pocket, and that was when he drew a 22 caliber magnum handgun and cocked it. Both deputies grabbed Womac, and Deputy Redrup was able to place his hand in the revolvers action. Womac attempted to fire the weapon, but the hammer came down on Redrups hand.’ Sheriff Guy says Price, Presswood, and Redrup wrestled Womac across the aisle and into the nail salon where he was subdued. ‘These officers were faced with a deadly force encounter from an armed and dangerous suspect who tried to shoot them. They had every right to shoot Mr Womac, and would have been justified in doing so,’ says Sheriff Guy.
