DeWALT Framing Nailer Recall: Risk of Injury to Users and Bystanders

Tool manufacturer Dewalt is recalling thousands of framing nail guns that could unexpectedly eject nails, putting users and bystanders at risk of serious injury. Dewalt Industrial Tool Co. and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission are recalling about 9,000 DEWALT D51825 and D51850 Framing Nailers after the company discovered that the bump action trigger on the nailers may have been assembled incorrectly during production.

Created by one “David Wiggins,” this DeWalt-themed nail gun is said to be able to “drive a 6d nail through a 2×4 at 200 yards.” For those of you interested in “long distance building,” however, this isn’t what it seems. It’s apparently nothing more than a cosmetic touch-up to a real firearm. Some folks simply have too much time on their hands.
